Annual Meeting and 25th Anniversary of the SGS

The Swiss Society of Spinal Surgery (SGS) is set to celebrate its 25th Annual Meeting in Locarno, bringing together spine specialists from across the country and beyond. The event will take place at PalaCinema, an iconic venue in Ticino, just steps from the renowned Piazza Grande.

This milestone gathering will not only reflect on the bold vision of SGS’s founding members but also acknowledge the challenges and achievements of past presidents who have contributed to the society’s growth. Today, SGS stands as the largest and most influential spinal society in Switzerland, driving advancements in spine surgery and patient care.

The scientific programme, a hallmark of SGS meetings, will centre around the theme "Improving Treatment Outcomes and Managing Patient Expectations in Spine Surgery." A series of high-level presentations, discussions, and debates will provide valuable insights into the latest research and surgical approaches in the field.

Beyond the scientific exchange, the celebration will conclude with a special highlight—the “Basel Spine Cup” sailing event on Lago Maggiore, offering attendees a unique and memorable finale.

The event welcomes spine specialists, including orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgeons, pain specialists, and researchers with a focus on spinal treatments. Their participation will not only enrich the discussions but also strengthen the professional community dedicated to improving spinal care.

The SGS Board, represented by President Cordula Netzer, Local Host Pietro Scarone, and Office Manager Célia Demierre, looks forward to welcoming participants to this exceptional gathering in Locarno.
